E-Cigarette Atomizers

E-Cigarette Atomizers

Knowing what e-cigarette atomizers are and how they work will give the e-cigarette a longer life and a better performance. The atomizer is the component of the e-cigarette that heats the liquid until it turns into vapor. It is located in the cartridge of the e-cigarette and is the battery-operated component. Atomizers come in many styles, and each is different in its objective and its design. Depending on the preference of the e-smoker, the atomizer can provide stronger hits, bigger vapor clouds, or enhance the flavor of the e-cig.

The Atomizer’s Life Span

The life span of the atomizer depends on its quality and how often it is used. However, on average, the e-cigarette atomizer will last from one to four weeks and sometimes longer. Knowing what to expect in a failing atomizer will allow plenty of time to order a replacement.

Some signs to watch out for are:

  1. A gurgling sound (the sound of liquid making bubbles)
  2. Poor vapor production (it gets harder to draw)
  3. The loss of flavor
  4. A leaking cartridge

The atomizer must be watch and evaluated to determine which one works best for the user.

Extending the Life of the E-Liquid Atomizer

Most all of the components of electronic cigarettes wear out over time, including the e-liquid atomizer. It is important to keep the e-liquid atomizer moist to make sure that it works properly and last as long as possible. The atomizer must be tightened over the battery until contact is made. If a hissing sound is heard, then it is still too loose. Be sure not to overfill the e-liquid atomizer, as it will void any warranty and cause damage to the battery. The battery is damaged and nicotine is leaking when any of the following occurs:

  1. The battery’s LED fails upon draw.
  2. The battery is very hot to the touch.
  3. The LED light flashes on its own accord. (This will happen if the nicotine liquid is in the switch.)

A temporary fix for this is to turn the battery upside down with the light facing up. This may allow the liquid to drain out, although there is no guarantee. Another way to extend the life of the atomizer is to keep the contact points clean. This can be done by wiping the battery’s and the atomizer’s thread. Doing these things to the e-cigarette atomizer will ensure peak performance and go a long way in reducing the overall cost of the e smoking experience.
