The Bible has changed in the smallest of ways over time and has opened the door for interpretation. But it is us humans who interpret these texts differently and come to varying conclusions about the word of God. Preterism is an astounding movement in the Christian community focusing on prophecies which have occurred in the past.
Revelation 16 has become one of the main arcs of the Book of Revelations, the closing book of the Bible and one of the most studied. This naturally makes the Revelation 16 commentary highly respected and desired in the community. In Preterist belief, the book reflects events of the past in detail. The scripture itself is astounding in its visceral nature. “Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels,’Go, pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.'”- Revelation 16.
The seven bowls are drink offerings, though the context of drink offerings may not be the most positive in Revelation 16. In actuality, God is referring the significant drink offerings as a way to relinquish wrath. The Book of Revelations, ultimately being a book of the coming end, is wrapped in darkness for millions and a heavenly light for the Christ-followers.
The angels then begin pouring the bowls as noted in the scripture. Painful scores break out on the people who worship Satan. Though it should be kept in mind, you are either with God or against. There is no middle ground in the eyes of the Lord.
This vivid depiction is distressing to the people still on Earth at this time. The depiction of the second bowl pouring is equally as awful, as it is the sea which gives humans life on a physical level. It is relied on heavily for physical survival.
The whole detail of revelation 16 commentary deciphers these passages for a real sense of who God is. This is not vengeance, but justice. It is the inevitable end of Sin and something which must occur to counteract the balance of pure holiness and heavenly eternity. Many find a beauty in these passages that reflects on how the end could be quite phenomenal and angelic for those who seek God through their lives. Commentary helps practice these ideas and save people.
